Madhubani painting is a style that originated in Mithila, India. Cultural and religious works are decorated with fine lines and beautiful vibrant colors. I could watch my mom paint with these colors for hours and hours, meticulously working on every small detail. If it were up to me, her paintings would be worth millions. Just like my mother, there are many artists hard at work pouring hours and hours of their time into these little details just to be met with very little reward. These artists keep India’s rich history alive through their hard work just to remain underpaid and overworked. Madhubani Hues is a family run business, run by Bhawna Thakur, Subhadra Thakur, Anshu Mishra, and Dakshita Mishra. Our main goal is to bring awareness to underpaid artists; profits made from selling these paintings will go straight to the artists.
